Tips To Stop Global Warming

This article on "Tips To Stop Global Warming" provides you with useful information about global warming.
Tips to Stop Global Warming

Global warming results from excessive greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere that are unable to escape and end up slowly increasing the mean global temperature. The average increase in temperature, in itself, does not seem like cause for alarm; however, the resulting negative effect on the environment has led activists, scientists, and politicians to re-evaluate the way we are currently operating. Individuals are also starting to search for tips to stop global warming which they can integrate into their daily lives.

The Three Golden Rules – Reduce, Recycle, Reuse

When tying to help stop global warming, there are three things you should keep in mind, and that is to reduce, reuse, and recycle. These three little words provide a way to easily remember how to modify your current behavior so that you can help limit your negative impact on the environment.

Golden Rule #1 – Reduce

Try to reduce both the amounts of energy you consume and the amount of unnecessary products that you purchase. To help reduce your overall energy consumption, try things like setting the thermostat on a slightly warmer temperature in the summer, and a cooler one in the winter. While you may have to add a sweater in the winter or be a little warmer than usual in the summer, the energy you are saving is definitely worth it. Also, little things like turning off the lights when you leave the room can make a big impact.

Golden Rule #2 – Recycle

Recycling options have been around for a while, but have become more popular in recent years. Check out your local community to see what kinds of options they have for recycling in your area. It can require a little more effort to initially learn about recycling and then actually begin implementing it, but after a while it will become second nature and will be easily accomplished. Knowing that you are doing your part to help the environment should be enough to at least consider recycling as an option.

Golden Rule #3 – Reuse

There are tons of ingenious online suggestions on how to reuse items. Try thinking of different ways to reuse plastic containers instead of throwing them away after you are finished with them. Companies are starting to place more emphasis on selling reusable items. For instance, companies that sell cleaning products now sell refillable bottles while also selling the cleaning solution in larger quantities to help reduce the amount of trash that develops.

Tips for Transportation

Our society relies heavily on motorized transportation and we are starting to see how this negatively impacts the environment. Instead of automatically hopping in your car, consider walking or riding a bicycle if your destination is not that far way. If that is not an option, you can consider using public transportation or carpooling to the office with other people from your neighborhood. This may require a little more effort on your part, but if everyone considered ways to limit car usage we would realize dramatic results for the environment.
