Global warming is considered by some to be the greatest political scam of our time. They claim it was started by overly enthusiastic activists who aim at creating an environment conducive to creating new comprehensive environmental policies to make big businesses operate in more environmentally friendly ways. Other people actually embrace the warnings of scientists and believe this issue is not simply over-publicized hype, but a very real problem that needs to be addressed.
Even if you do not necessarily believe that global warming is the most serious problem facing our planet at this time, you should still consider adopting new behaviors, or changing your current behaviors, to make sure that, at the very least, you are not contributing to the problem. There are plenty of small behavioral changes that might not make a significant difference on their own, but when added together with other small changes, and done on a large enough scale with enough people involved, it will really make a difference. The best way to help stop global warming is not to waste time trying to enact legislation targeting big businesses, but instead to start with grassroots efforts to initiate small changes and gradually build a movement that will make a different.

One of the fundamental causes of global warming is the burning of fossil fuels all around the world, which release greenhouse gasses that get trapped in our atmosphere. Simple ways to reduce emissions is to use your car less, or invest in a greener hybrid type car. Walk or ride a bicycle instead of driving when your destination is not terribly far away or create carpools in your neighborhood for people who travel the same route to work everyday.
The best campaign that was launched to help stop global warming from getting any worse, and hopefully to reduce its current effects on the planet, is the reduce, reuse, and recycle slogan. This is an easy an effective way to try to remember how to do your part to help stop global warming. Reduce the amount of energy you consume, try to invent new ways to reuse products instead of throwing them away like you normally would, and use your community resources to recycle products that can be repurposed and used again.
Help Spread the Word
As stated, the best way to enact lasting change that can help stop global warming is to create a movement of people that are truly concerned about their impact on the environment. Keep an eye out in your community to see if there is any way in which you can get involved with helping to spread the word about changing your neighborÂ’s behaviors. Become a spokesperson and a roll model by actually doing what you are telling others to do. There are always ways to get involved, from gathering signatures for petitions aimed at helping the environment to volunteering your time to help collect recyclables in your local area. You can choose how much or how little you want to get involved, just get involved.
