LED Emergency Lighting

Hope you find this article on "LED Emergency Lighting" written by our LED expert useful.
Power failures are impossible to predict, and it is important to have some type of emergency lighting should this happen. LED emergency lighting that comes on automatically when the power goes out will provide the lighting needed until power supplies are restored.

Home and Office Emergency Lighting

It is certainly inconvenient to have a power loss, whether at home, in the office setting, or any other type of business. When the lights go out during the day it is more of a nuisance, but a power failure at night can be critical, especially for a business that does mostly night time operations. LED emergency lighting that is triggered automatically has an important function. They can point the way to exits simply by following the flashing light patterns because emergency lights are normally installed at key exit points. In the home there is no need to fumble around in the dark relying on candles that can be hazardous, or flashlights that have weak batteries.

Outside Emergency Lights

LED emergency lighting that comes on immediately outside the home or office following a power outage will offer security to the area. In addition, this will act as a deterrent to any criminal activity that may occur during these occasions. This allows for safe entrance or exit to the building while helping to keep the premises and surrounding area well lit and safe. Exterior LED’s can be mounted on walls or posts around the perimeter, and they can blend in with existing light fixtures. They can also be programmed to come on in the event of a potential break in.

LED’s for Emergency Vehicles

LED emergency lighting plays another role when they are used by rescue personnel, fire fighters, law enforcement vehicles, and ambulances. Whether the LED lights are flashing or rotating, this is a signal that an emergency has occurred and that traffic must make way. Police vehicles are equipped with various LED lights which can be employed separately or in tandem. Dash mounted LED light bars flash in a pattern, a roof mounted LED light can rotate or flash colored light patterns, and there may be LED lights mounted on the sides or trunk of the vehicle.

Ambulance and Rescue Personnel

Along with a siren, ambulances are equipped with flashing emergency LED’s, usually red and white in color. When these lights are flashing it signifies that the ambulance is either en route to the scene of an accident, or transporting someone to a hospital, and other drivers should move aside or pull over to let it pass. Emergency personnel on their way to an accident or a fire will have flashing LED emergency lighting mounted on or in their vehicle. These lights are usually one color that flash or rotate.

Wherever LED emergency lighting is used, and for whatever purpose, these brilliant flashing lights serve to signal other drivers that something has happened, or is occurring right at the time. They are bright enough to be seen from quite a distance, allowing other vehicles plenty of time to move over or avoid the scene.
