LED lights for glasses have made it possible to shine a little light on the subject, to borrow an old saying, because of the technology that provides light which is energy efficient. Gone are the days when it was just too much of a nuisance to try wearing safety goggles that were lighted because the battery would go dead halfway through a project. LED lights for glasses generally are operated by a button style battery that powers light from 30 to 50 hours.
LED Safety Glasses
There are several brands of OTG (over-the-glasses) safety glasses that have built-in LED lights for glasses. Lighted safety glasses allow for hands-free working on any project, even in dim lighting because the side mounted lights are adjustable and can be switched on and/or directed individually. The lenses are generally anti-fog and also able to filter out 99.99% of UV light, but as they are a single unit construction, the lenses are not replaceable. Most LED safety glasses can be adjusted to fit snugly and are constructed with cushioning temple tips to avoid irritation. LED lights for glasses are powered by a replaceable button battery, and most sets generally come packaged with at least one replacement battery.
LED Reading Glasses
One of the biggest problems many of us face as we grow a bit older is the fact that reading becomes more difficult, and is especially hard to do in dimly lit places. Although there are reading magnifiers that we pull out when reading menus or browsing a book in the waiting room of the doctors office, sometimes the light is too dim even with our handy magnifiers. One of the newest innovations in reading glasses is the EYEGLOW LED Reading Glasses. They have a tiny LED mounted on the frame on both sides that shine a bright directional beam directly on the page to make even the smallest print easily read. Strengths range from 1.50+ to 2.50+ and the price is not much more than a normal pair of magnifiers found in pharmacies or department stores.
LED lights for glasses make it possible to actually see again in dimly lit places and can be worn for hours on end without the need to replace batteries. Because the tiny lights are of solid state construction they are durable and can withstand shocks and bumps where old style lamps with a bulb were known to shatter. Safety glasses that fit over prescription glasses or lighted magnifiers are reasonably priced and built to last.
